Jo Nesbø is a bestselling Norwegian author, journalist, and musician, best known for his gripping crime thrillers featuring Detective Harry Hole. Born on March 29, 1960, in Oslo, Norway, and raised in Molde, Nesbø originally worked as a stockbroker and also pursued a career in music as the lead singer of the band Di Derre before becoming one of the most acclaimed crime writers in the world.

Nesbø's literary breakthrough came with The Bat (1997), the first novel in the Harry Hole series. The series, which includes international bestsellers such as The Snowman, The Leopard, The Thirst, and Knife, is known for its dark, twist-filled plots, psychological depth, and complex protagonist—a brilliant but troubled detective battling his own demons.

In addition to the Harry Hole series, Nesbø has written standalone novels such as Headhunters and The Son, as well as the Doctor Proctor’s Fart Powder children’s books, showcasing his range as a storyteller.
