About the author:
Sean Williams is one of Australia’s most prolific and acclaimed science fiction and fantasy authors, with a diverse body of work that spans adult, young adult, and media tie-in fiction. Born in Whyalla, South Australia, in 1967, Williams grew up with a passion for science fiction and storytelling that led him to pursue a writing career rooted in expansive world-building, philosophical themes, and speculative adventure.

He has published more than 40 novels and 100 short stories, many of which have won or been nominated for prestigious awards such as the Aurealis and Ditmar Awards. Williams first gained widespread attention with the Evergence trilogy, co-authored with Shane Dix, a space opera praised for its depth and scale. The duo continued their collaboration with the Orphans and Geodesica series, solidifying their place in the sci-fi canon.

Williams’ solo works include The Books of the Change, an epic fantasy trilogy, and The Resurrected Man, a cyberpunk thriller exploring identity and technology. His Astropolis series is a bold, far-future exploration of consciousness and immortality, while his Twinmaker trilogy dives into near-future science fiction and the ethics of teleportation and digital replication.

A major part of Williams' career has involved writing for the Star Wars Expanded Universe, where he contributed several popular titles. These include Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance, and the New Jedi Order duology (Force Heretic: Remnant, Refugee, and Reunion with Shane Dix), which expanded the saga's mythology and reached international bestseller lists.

Williams also teaches creative writing and is actively involved in the Australian speculative fiction community. His work is noted for its philosophical undercurrents, fast-paced plotting, and exploration of cutting-edge scientific ideas.

He currently lives in Adelaide, South Australia, and continues to write across multiple genres, frequently blending hard science fiction with richly imagined narratives aimed at both adult and young adult audiences.
