Genre: Science fiction, Horror

Plot: (Warning, may contain spoilers):
Published in 2020, "Aliens: Phalanx" is a unique departure from the high-tech sci-fi of the Alien franchise. It blends the Xenomorph mythos with a medieval/pre-industrial fantasy setting, focusing on survival in a world where humanity has been driven to the brink of extinction.

The Plot:
The story takes place on the planet Ataegina, a world of castles and shields. For generations, humanity has been forced to live in "Holds"—mountain fortresses—to hide from the "Demons" (Xenomorphs) that swarm the surface. These Demons have decimated the population, and the survivors live in a constant state of terror, utilising "Runners" to travel between Holds to trade supplies.

The protagonist, Ahura, is a young Runner from Lemuy Hold. Unlike the warriors who believe the Demons are invincible, Ahura and her friends, Ciba and Kahi, are determined to find a way to fight back. When a neighbouring Hold falls and a mysterious sickness begins to spread, the trio discovers a secret that could change the war: the "Demons" are not supernatural, but biological, and they have a specific weakness.

Key Characters:
• Ahura: A brave and quick-witted Runner who refuses to accept a life of hiding.
• Ciba: A brilliant young woman who discovers the "black mud" (poison) that can actually kill a Xenomorph.
• Kahi: A strong, loyal friend and fellow Runner who provides the muscle for their dangerous missions.

The Resolution:
After much trial and error, the group develops a specialised poison and a new military formation—the Phalanx—using heavy shields and spears coated in the toxin to withstand the Xenomorphs' acid blood.

The climax involves a massive, desperate battle at the Black Spire, the heart of the "Demon" nest. The humans use their new tactics to fight through hordes of Aliens and eventually kill the Queen. The ending reveals a shocking twist: Ataegina was originally a high-tech colony, and the "Demons" were brought there as part of a Weyland-Yutani experiment that went wrong centuries ago. By defeating the Queen, Ahura and her people finally reclaim their world, moving from a dark age of fear into a new era of hope.

Comments:
To start with, I have not finished this yet but I know that my synopsis above is wrong. Those names of characters do not match with what I am reading. I will update it as soon as I have finished.
